Victorian Costumes Ideas Introduction
Turning to be a Victorian woman is a dream of most of the female now because this fashion represents elegance and stylish. I will share some personal ideas about this fashion clothing style and you can have a read if you are interested in this clothing fashion.
About the dressing costumes for ladies and gentlemen: Victorian ladies wore dresses with long skirts and high necklines. A simple thrift shop dress or any old-fashioned clothing can be accented to create a Victorian costume. Add ribbons, lace, a petticoat, a brooch or a shawl to complete the look. Top all of this off with a bonnet or a small cap decorated with flowers. Victorian gentlemen wore vests, tapered pants and hats such as tweed skimmers. Turn the collar up on a plain white button shirt and knot a scarf or cravat around your neck for a Victorian look. Create a frock coat by trimming the collar of a regular dark overcoat with velvet or brocade and moving the first button down to the mid-chest region.
About the working class dressing costumes: Working-class Victorian women wore simple dresses with fewer embellishments. Do not wear a petticoat if you are dressing as a working-class woman. Wear an apron with a bib over your dress and tie a shawl around your shoulders. Working-class Victorian men also dressed simply. Wear baggy wool or corduroy trousers. Put on a plain, collarless shirt and roll up the sleeves. Complete the look by wearing a hat with a broad brim and a low crown.
About the seaside dressing: Visitors at the beach during the Victorian era were only slightly less dressed than they were normally. Ladies wore crinoline cage frames under their skirts, which were slightly shorter than their everyday skirts. They also wore tight corsets and bustles. They also wore round hats decorated with long ribbons. You can wear a loose skirt with a tighter top as a lady bather. Complete the look with a straw hat with ribbons and a parasol. Victorian men would try to look nautical or slightly exotic when they went to the beach. They would dress in striped blazers, straw boater hats, brightly colored cummerbunds and white flannel bottoms. Find these clothing articles to put together a Victorian seaside outfit.

About the corsets: Fashion was influenced by what a woman wore underneath. The garments gave form to fashion. The hourglass figure was enhanced. A tiny waist, fuller skirt and dresses that projected out from behind were some of the important characteristics. We, as women, are familiar to corsets and the magic they can work. In spite of the criticism that they received during the Victorian era, corsetry was a popular practice. Rigid corsets helped a woman to achieve the desired shape and form and also concealed the layers of garments worn below. In order to give the bodice a smooth line, a strip of wood or steel was inserted through the center of the corset, in front. To add more structure, sometimes, strips of whalebone were also used.
About the accessories: Fashion does not stop at clothes. Accessories play an equally important role in getting the perfect look. Women during the Victorian era were well aware of this fact. Hand fans, gloves and parasols were among a woman's favorite accessories. Gloves added a graceful touch to an outfit. Hats and bonnets were widely used to complete the look. Feathers, flowers, embellishments and pins were used in the decoration. A respectable woman never stepped out of the house bareheaded. Along with elaborate hats, hairstyling, too, was given equal attention. Queen Victoria often adorned her hairdo with flowers. French hairstyles and curls were a favorite with women back then. Chignons were largely used and it was common to use fake hairpieces to up the glamor quotient. Makeup was considered as sinful during those days. However, with time, shades of pink and other colors close to natural skin tone came into use. Satin and silk footwear with small heels, lace tie-up boots and pumps were used to set the best foot forward.

How to Dress Like A Little Victorian Girl
Most of the female is interested in dressing in a Victorian style because it will help they show their elegance and mature. The time period for girls' fashion was marked by full skirts buffeted by petticoats, sashes, bustles, white or black tights, low black shoes and small hats. I will share some small tips on how to dress like a little Victorian girl and you can have a reference if you are interested in this fashion topic.
First,Buy or make a dress that has a full skirt that reaches to the girl's mid-calf level. Construct the skirt with enough room to accommodate added layers of petticoats or crinoline. The top should be fitted with a high collar and straight sleeves, or slightly puffed sleeves. Sleeves may end in ruffles or lace detail. Adding a second layer to the skirt and bustle it in the back to create an effect that many Victorian little girls wore. Add detail to the dress front, such as ruffled smocking. Wear a white pinafore for plainer dresses, without decorative detailing.
Second, Put on petticoats or a crinoline skirt, under the dress. This will cause the dress to fluff out about 6 inches, creating a bell shape. Tie on a sash, long enough to fashion a large bow that rests at the girl's lower back.Don white or black tights and low, black dress shoes.Wear a cape or capelet coats, or a duster coat that reaches to the mid-calf level. Add a saucer hat with a short brim.
Third, Part hair in the middle and allow it to hang loose, straight or in soft curls, down the back. Another alternative is to gather the hair into a low ponytail and tie a simple hair ribbon to hold it in place.

How To Make An Easy Victorian Costume
If you are interested in Victorian clothing fashion and i think you will be interested in knowing how to make an easy Victorisan costume. I will simply share some small tips on this and you can have a reference if you are interested in this clothing fashion.
First, start with a long full skirt for the woman's costume, or take a rectangular piece of fabric or thin blanket. Sew up the sides. Make a waistband by turning over one end and running elastic through it. Gather the bottom by running a thread about a foot from the floor to create a ruffled hem. Stitch a piece of lace around the gathering on the skirt. Wear a square dancing crinoline underneath. This gives the outfit the fullness of the Victorian skirt, allowing it to fall from the knees down.
Second, women can wear a thin poet shirt for the first layer with long full sleeves gathered at the cuffs, or wear a similar loose-fitting shirt and run an elastic through the cuffs. Over that wear a top with cap sleeves. It can be a knitted pullover or shirt that buttons, but the look should be slightly formal with the sleeves short and loose and the shirt tucked in at the waist. Add an eyelet ruffle at the neck and cuffs, and pin a velvet bow in a contrasting color to the neck.
Third, make a cutaway frock coat for men from an inexpensive black raincoat. Cut away the sides, leaving a rounded coat bottom behind the knees. Cover the top points of the collar with black velvet. Wear long straight black pants and a white shirt, turning the collar points up for a Victorian look. Top it off with a brocade vest as a waistcoat to add a formal touch.
Last, wear white gloves and carry a parasol, preferably one with a ruffled edge, as women's accessories. Men might wear a black top hat and white gloves and carry a cane.
